These products are FDA-approved and safe for nearly everyone. Some fillers derived from animal sources may pose a risk of allergy. Before being injected with these products, we will review your medical history and if necessary perform a “spot test” to determine your risk of an allergic reaction.
Before: Preparation for treatment is minimal, and often times a consultation and treatment can be performed during the same office visit. You may be asked you to contract different muscles to determine the most appropriate spots for injection.
During: The injection site may be numbed with a topical anesthetic or cold pack. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Treatment takes just a few minutes.
After: There is no recovery time associated with these injections. The treated area may feel firm for a couple of days, but should quickly subside. Results can be seen and felt immediately. Lines, wrinkles and folds look softer and your skin looks smoother. Minor bruising may occur.
Results may last as long as six months to a year or more depending upon such factors as your lifestyle, age and skin structure. Touch up treatments may be required in two to four weeks to achieve your desired result.
